forestry & logging
Any machine, facility, or organisation that cuts, mills, or processes raw wood into finished planks of lumber is referred to as a "sawmill." The term "portable" is generally applied to a modern machine designed to perform this duty. Any device that transforms logs into finished boards qualifies as a portable sawmill. Depending on the sawmill's design, these usually use huge circular blades or band-style blades. Slasher saws and sawmills are two terms that are used interchangeably.
Used Resaw for saleResaws, also known as slasher or ground saws, are used to chop one or more delimbed logs so that they may be transported conveniently by logging trucks. Logs are put in the saw's steel-framed cradle, where a circular blade, chain, or bar saw emerges from the saw box to cut the wood. Many slasher saws are fixed and sit directly on the ground, but there are mobile variants with built-in wheels or that can be towed to and from work sites on a trailer. Optional add-ons and bespoke configurations, such as extended folding or stacking chassis, reversed saw boxes, and more, are usually available from manufacturers.
A lumber edger is a tool that uses saws to straighten and smooth rough lumber or bowed stock by cutting along the boards' sides. Dimensional lumber is the end result of this technique. The edger is the next in line after the head saw in a saw mill. The edger's feed and press rollers are normally powered, allowing the lumber to flow through the machine. The lumber produced by the head saw determines the length of feed and tables.
