Types of Mining Equipment used in Mining work

Large Mining Trucks

To move materials around a mine site, workers need heavy-duty trucks. Also known as off-highway trucks, large mining trucks include both powerful mechanical models and environmentally friendly electric drive models.

Unlike conventional trucks, these mining vehicles have extra-large tires to support the heavy loads over uneven terrain commonly found around surface mines.

Additionally, these trucks can carry high payload capacities to accommodate the need for moving weighty mined minerals or ore out of the site. Large mining trucks also need to perform in the most extreme conditions — cold, heat, heavy dust, high altitudes, and steep slopes while hauling heavy loads.

Hydraulic Mining Shovels

The original steam shovel design employed in earlier times gave rise to the modern mining shovels, which are occasionally termed excavators. The shovel is moved by hydraulics in many of the current models, allowing it to cut through resistant materials.

The designs of hydraulic mining shovels are generally similar. The cab pivots on top of a base that has either tracks or wheels. The operator can access material in a circle around the shovel while making minimal movement because to the pivoting action. The shovel is held by an articulated arm, and the operator operates both from inside the cab.

Hydraulic mining shovels have the following uses:

Transferring mining or earth materials.
Digging.
Stuff being sucked into a loader.
Opening up a surface mine by removing overburden, often known as rock or dirt.
Moving a few mined materials.

Large Dozers

Materials are easily moved around a mining site using large mining dozers. Additionally, the variety of surfaces these dozers may operate on is increased by the option of vehicles with wheels or tracks. The following apps can be used with the dozers with additional attachments:

Building mining sites by removing surface material to reveal the subsurface.
Preserving a mine site by moving dirt out of the way of the working areas.
Reclamation of the area around mining operations.
Removing soil-borne plant material.
Raking the ground next to a mine.
